LG washing machine error codes
LG washing machines show clear two-letter codes, and most problems can be identified from the code before the technician arrives.
| Code | What it means | Usual repair |
|---|---|---|
| OE | Drain error | Clean pump filter, clear drain hose, replace drain pump |
| IE | Water inlet error | Check tap and inlet hose, clean filter, replace inlet valve |
| UE | Unbalanced load | Redistribute clothes; check shock absorbers if repeated |
| DE | Door open or lock fault | Door switch or lock assembly |
| LE | Motor locked | Direct Drive rotor, stator or Hall sensor check |
| PE | Water level sensor fault | Pressure sensor or hose |
| FE | Too much water | Inlet valve sticking open or pressure sensor |
| tE | Heating fault | Thermistor or heater |
| CL | Child lock is on | Not a fault; hold the child lock button to switch off |

LG Direct Drive motors
LG's Direct Drive washing machines have no belt. The motor is mounted straight onto the drum. They are quiet and efficient, but when an LE error appears the cause is usually the rotor, stator or the Hall sensor that reads the motor position. Our technicians test each part so you only pay for what has failed. Worn drum bearings, which cause a loud rumbling on spin, are another common LG repair.
LG fridge repair
- Fridge not cooling: we test the compressor, inverter board, fans and refrigerant level.
- Ice maker and dispenser faults on side-by-side and InstaView models.
- Error codes such as Er FF or Er IF relating to freezer and ice maker fans.
- Noisy fridge caused by an iced fan blade or worn fan motor.
FixQara is independent and not affiliated with LG. For appliances out of the manufacturer's warranty, we provide an AED 75 inspection and a 1-year warranty on every part we install.
